How the Fronius inverter range is organised

Fronius splits its line-up by phase count first, and the family name tells you which: Primo models are single-phase, Symo models are three-phase. The seven Fronius inverters listed here all use a transformerless topology, and all but one carry an IP66 enclosure rating.

Single-phase: Primo GEN24

The residential single-phase band runs from Primo GEN24 3.0 at 3,000 W nominal AC power, through Primo GEN24 5.0 Plus at 5,000 W, to Primo GEN24 6.0 Plus at 6,000 W. The three share a front end: two MPPT channels, a 600 V maximum DC input, and a pair of inputs rated 22 A and 12 A rather than one common figure. Maximum efficiency is 97.6% on all three; European efficiency separates them slightly, at 96.7%, 96.3% and 96.1% respectively. All three weigh 15.38 kg and are listed for 220/230 V single-phase output.

Three-phase: Symo GEN24

Symo GEN24 3.0 Plus matches the smallest Primo at 3,000 W but delivers it across three phases, and it lifts the DC ceiling to 1,000 V with a 125-800 V MPPT window. Symo GEN24 10.0 Plus is the 10,000 W step, at 98.2% maximum and 97.9% European efficiency, 23.38 kg. Both list 400/230 V output: the line-to-line and line-to-neutral pair of one three-phase four-wire connection, not two separate options.

Commercial and utility scale

Above the GEN24 platform the listing holds two much larger three-phase machines. Verto 33.3 is rated 33,300 W with four MPPT channels, a wide 150-870 V MPPT range and a 38.9 kg chassis. Tauro ECO 100-3-P marks the 100,000 W end: a single MPPT input rated 175 A, 580-930 V tracking, 103 kg, IP65, and an operating range of -40 °C to +65 °C.

Reading a Fronius model designation

A Fronius designation is built from a family name, a platform name and a number.

The family name gives the phase count. Primo is single-phase: every Primo listed here records one phase. Symo is three-phase: every Symo records three. That is the fastest read on any Fronius part number. If it says Symo, it needs a three-phase connection.

GEN24 is the platform generation, shared by both families. It is not a power or size code. Primo GEN24 and Symo GEN24 are the same generation of hardware in single- and three-phase form.

The number is nominal AC power in kilowatts. It maps directly onto the stored ratings: 3.0 is 3,000 W, 5.0 is 5,000 W, 6.0 is 6,000 W, 10.0 is 10,000 W. The rule holds outside GEN24 too. Verto 33.3 is rated 33,300 W, and the 100 in Tauro ECO 100-3-P is 100,000 W.

Plus marks the storage-capable version of a GEN24. Primo GEN24 3.0 is listed without it; the 5.0 Plus, 6.0 Plus, Symo 3.0 Plus and Symo 10.0 Plus all carry it. The suffix does not change the PV front end: the 3.0 and the 5.0 Plus both list two MPPT channels and a 600 V DC ceiling.

On Tauro the trailing codes describe the connection. In Tauro ECO 100-3-P the 3 marks three-phase output, matching the stored phase count, and the final letter distinguishes DC-connection variants. The -P listed here takes a single MPPT input rated 175 A.
