Manufacturers publish a maximum figure because inverters can push slightly beyond their continuous rating when the heatsink is cool — typically a few percent above nominal. Do not size a system on this number: sustained operation is governed by nominal power, and the inverter will pull back to it as internal temperature rises. Some data sheets also use maximum AC power to describe apparent power in VA rather than real power in W, so check the unit before comparing two models.
